Urdu has probably overtaken persian in the amount of authentic literature published to date.

The Darse Nizami (syllabus in Islamic seminaries) which was previously taught in persian is now wholly taught in Urdu in the Indian sub-continent. Only a few books of persian remain in the syllabus.

Mastening the language will prove to be a most invaluable asset and it will open a vast world of literature for the incumbent student.
